Tapered Shims in Custom Lengths and Widths

Tapered shims are made from solid metal and gradually machined down from a thick edge to a thin edge specified by customer drawing. Tapered shims are used primarily when the specific size is not known. The shim is inserted as far as required and the excess is trimmed off to fit.

Shimco can machine taper lengths from less than 1" to 28".  Width of taper can be as large as 10 ft.

Shimco works closely with reputable Nadcap approved subcontractors for added value such as heat treat, paint, sand blasting, anodizing, and other processes required to complete your needs.

Tapered shims are made from Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Steel, Copper, Brass, Titanium, Nylon, and Plastics in most alloys and tempers.

Raw material supplied is always DFARS, and complete Mill Test Reports are available with all our products.
