Laminated shims have long been recognized and used by the Aerospace and High-Tech industries that require close tolerances.  The unique flexibility of a laminated shim ensures a perfect fit upon application.  Laminated shims can be used in a wide range of products resulting in improved inventory control. They are cost effective due to very little final assembly preparation.
                                                                            

Peelable shims are made up of a series of individual thin metal layers placed on top of one another, glued and thermally bonded over their entire surface to form a compact laminated sheet.  These individual layers can be easily separated and removed to achieve the desired shim thickness.  This procedure avoids the need for machining and adjustment associated with solid single component shims.

Laminated shims are made from Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Steel, Copper, Brass, Titanium, Fiberglass, and Composites.

Raw material supplied is always DFARS, and complete Mill Test Reports are available with all our products.
